Hello and Welcome to Sno-Bearz Cottage

My name is Kerry-Leigh Graham and I am the designer and creator of the “Sno-Bearz Cottage” Handcrafted Teddy Bears and their Friends Range.

A Bit About Me

I began making teddy bears over 15 years ago as ‘something to do’.  My ‘something to do’ soon turned into a hobby and my hobby grew into a passion for creating handcrafted teddy bears for both collectors and for children.

Sno-Bearz Cottage” has been patiently waiting to go ‘global’ for the last eight years.  While I mastered my designs and workmanship in competitions and participated in some trade shows, I didn’t really have the time to dedicate myself to it the way I wanted to.  However in July 2009 we decided to set in motion a plan to move from a hectic city based work life in Queensland, northern Australia, to a much calmer lifestyle in the southern island state of Tasmania.  This was achieved in December 2009 when we moved into a sweet little village surrounded by misty mountains and rolling ‘green’ hills (as opposed to brown dusty ones).  Here, in these tranquil surroundings all my creative ideas have begun to bud once again and the only problem I have now is that my fingers can’t sew quick enough to keep up with my imagination.

The Name

The name comes from the show and obedience dogs I had and originally was all one word “Snobearz” but people kept pronouncing it ‘Snob earz’! Not very attractive. So I separated it to “Sno-Bearz” and people haven’t mispronounced it since.  The ‘Sno’ came from my Samoyeds, that ‘white as the driven snow’ coat and ‘Bearz’ was the name of our black German Shepherd.  The ‘cottage’ is pretty self-explanatory really – we live in a little cottage.
